The CEO of Breeze Airways David Neeleman announced a new flight path out of Provo with non-stop service to San Bernardino. Flights begin February 7th and if you buy ahead of time online, the price per seat may be lower than $40. Neeleman confirmed that Provo is Breeze’s “home airport” which may lead to more flight paths being offered in the near future.
The Provo Missionary Training Center (MTC) hosted a Christmas concert featuring a blend of hymns and songs from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' "Strive To Be" and "Songs of Devotion" albums. The event showcased performances by missionaries in training alongside professional artists, including the Truman Brothers, Ysabelle Cuevas, Halo Crowther, and Pearce Morris. The concert aimed to highlight the role of music in worship.
On December 13, 2024, KSL.com reported that Kevan Elkins expressed deep gratitude to off-duty nurse Cameron Connelly and firefighter Curtis Hutchinson for saving his life after he collapsed at an American Fork gym. Connelly and Hutchinson performed CPR and used a defibrillator to revive Elkins, who had gone into cardiac arrest. Intermountain Health honored the first responders with challenge coins for their heroic actions.
Dreamwalk Park, an immersive indoor theme park, is opening at University Place Mall in Orem. Spanning 50,000 square feet, the park features fantastical environments, including glowing mushrooms, gemstone caves, and alien ruins. Visitors use tools like decoder wands and microchipped portal passes to interact with animatronics, holograms, and hidden clues. Co-founders aim to provide a transportive, otherworldly experience with interactive exhibits, light shows, and themed effects, creating a unique escape for patrons.

The 32nd Annual Spanish Fork Festival of Lights runs from December 15th, 2024, to January 1, 2025, at Canyon View Park in Spanish Fork. It features a vibrant drive-through light display showcasing holiday-themed scenes, drawing families and visitors to celebrate the festive season.
"A Christmas Story: The Musical" is being performed at the SCERA Center for the Arts in Orem. The Annual Youth Art Competition in Springville is a celebration of creativity, showcasing artistic talents from young individuals in the community. Open to various age groups, the competition invites submissions in multiple mediums, providing a platform for emerging artists to gain recognition. Winners and selected entries will be displayed in an exhibit, offering a unique opportunity for participants to share their work with the public. UVUs women’s basketball team will face off against Jacksonville State on Monday night at 6pm. BYU’s mens basketball will play Florida A&M at 7pm Friday Night at the Marriott Center. BYU is coming off of a major week for their basketball as they signed AJ Dybantsa, the number 1 overall recruit in the country and the frontrunner to be the number 1 overall pick in the 2026 NBA draft.
